Ophiopogon planiscapus nigrecens is commonly called black mondo grass, forms tufts or clumps of purple black, needle-like foliage much compact than common mondo grass.  It is one of the most popular architectural plants due to its striking black colour and form. It grows to a maximum height of 15cm and makes an excellent feature border around paving blocks in pathways or areas in which a standout feature or impression is being sought. It is a low maintenance drought hardy plant with very few diseases and pests.   Plant 10 to 15 cm apart for a hedged border.  The price is per plant.
