It is one of the most popular architectural plants due to its striking black colour and form. It grows to a maximum height of 15cm and makes an excellent feature border around paving blocks in pathways or areas in which a standout feature or impression is being sought. It is a low maintenance drought hardy plant with very few diseases and pests. Plant 10 to 15 cm apart for a hedged border. The price is per plant.
Landscaping tip to tone down the harsh impact of steps, paths and pavers is to use mondo grasses and liriopes to create beautiful layered border impacts along pathways as the plants will grow no taller than stated.
