Shipping and delivery times

All our plants are carefully packed in new post boxes and dispatched by Australia Post bare root (no soil) every Monday so that they are usually received in the same week of dispatch. Orders received and paid for by a Sunday evening are dispatched the next day.  Expected delivery times from a Monday dispatch:

  • Within two days - South east Queensland and Northern NSW;
  • Within three days - Central Queensland, Sydney and Central Coast of NSW;
  • Within four days -  North Queensland, Melbourne and country Victoria;
  • Within five days (Friday) - ACT, Adelaide and country South Australia.   

If no one is available to meet the courier, Australia Post will leave a card with the address of the Post Office designated for collection. When collecting, please bring with you some form of identification that corresponds with the name of the consignee.

Delivery charges for plants comprise three components:

  1. A handling fee of $3.50 per order to help cover the cost of the boxes, packaging and delivery to Australia Post;
  2. A flag fall amount to cover orders costing less than $100.  This varies from state to state in line with postal charge differences.  The flag falls are as follows: ACT - $11; NSW $11, Queensland $9; South Australia - $13.00 and Victoria - $12;
  3. A variable amount applicable to orders more than $100 to cover incremental increases in postage with increased plant purchases.  

We have found in the past that the above combined delivery charge is very close to actual costs. For high value items or if you feel the postage rate is not correct, please contact us so that arrangements can be made to adjust or refund postal charges. Unfortunately the system cannot readily differentiate between various product sizes and values. Where there is a divergence in postage cost we will notify you and refund any overpayment.  We are not interested in making money out of postage costs. We buy in bulk tubestock and know how expensive postage can be.

For orders over $200.00 we provide a free upgrade to registered post.  For orders less than $200.00 we recommend that you consider registered post.  Once the plants have been dispatched by post we will not take responsibility for plants misplaced or damaged by improper transit handling by postal couriers. Postal insurance is available upon request.
