Clivia Displays for 2011

Posted on 27th Apr 2011 @ 11:51 AM

Come and see one of the biggest collections of clivia under one roof. Entry is free. Take in the ambience and beauty of the many flowering colours, shapes and sizes. Best of all purchase quality flowering clivia and seedlings.

This is the fourth year that Pine Mountain Botanics Pty Ltd has organized this event. The clivia displays are held over two weekends to enable enthusiasts to see a larger range of flowering clivia by attending both weekends. The dates are as follows –

  • Saturday 10 to Sunday 11 September
  • Saturday 17 to 18 September

For those who attend 17 or 18 September we have a special treat.  Come and meet our local olive growers and sample and purchase a range of quality olive products including Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar and Glazes and Infused Oils. Table olives include gift packs (Dukkah + 2x35ml infused oils), baked olives with various infused oils, Seviffano green olives and Kalamata olives. Other local produce including cheeses and wine and wood furniture.

If travelling from Brisbane, take the Warrego Hwy and after about 10 minutes take the Pine Mountain Road exit and travel on Pine Mountain Road down to the Cricket Pitch on right (hall on left) and turn right into Russell's Road. Towards the end the road turns to gravel and divides - take the left road and follow it to the nursery. Here are a couple of suggestions to help plan your day trip to Pine Mountain Nursery -

Kholo Botanical Gardens - 243 Riverside Drive approximately 10 minutes back from Pine Mountain Nursery. The Gardens is a small park of 376,000 square metres located on a bluff overlooking the Brisbane River with a path down to the river. It was established in 1988 as a bicentennial project. A number of water features including water falls and ponds attract native birds and provide restful spots for family picnics on the nearby lawns. Covered cooking facilities, tables and toilets are present and further development includes refurbishment of the historic “Woollen Mills” homestead re-located to this site.

The Cricket Pitch - (Cnr Pine Mountain Road and Russells Road). Included in the park is a concrete cricket pitch, electric barbeques and a children’s playground.
