CLIVIA GARDENII Clivia Gardeni has reddish orange, sometimes yellow downward curving flowers with greenish tips 5 to 8 cm long on stems to 75 cm tall. It usually has 10 to 20 flowers anf the flowers are not as pendulous as caulescens or nobilis. The leaves are rather narrow, about 60cm in length and deep green. It grows to 60 cm in height and flowers in Winter. It is often used by breeders to create new interspecific types and colours and help widen the flowering season. Gardenii has an extended flowering season from May. Set out below are some pictures of gardenii flowers we own showing a range in colours and some variations in florets:

Gardenii - 7 to 10 leaves
The picture shows the actual plants for sale. They have four to six leaves. Note the variations in the pigmented bases. Expect a range of flower colour types. They should flower when they have 12 to 14 leaves.
Gardenii - flowering size
The picture shows the actual size of plants for sale. These plants have yet to flower and are flowering size. They came from seed imported from South Africa and some diversity in flower colours is expected. The plants have variations in pigment colour at their bases. Gardenii are often used in breeding interspecifics.
