Category Family: Amaryllidaceae Cyrtanthus elatus is commonly known as the Scarborough lily and also known by its old name Vallota speciosa, it originally comes from the southern Cape area of South Africa and is now grown world-wide for its cut flowers. Prefered climate is tropical/subtropical frost free and near frost free areas. It will tolerate the odd night down to minus 6 degrees celsius. The prefer well drained sandy soil. They flower in late Summer or early Autumn.
